It might have seemed like a crushing blow to the Chilliwack Bruins to be playing inspired hockey going into the playoff stretch only to be railroaded on back-to-back games by their arch-rivals, the Vancouver Giants, 4-2 and 6-1. The losses were tough to swallow by a Bruins team that has challenged the ever-dominating Giants more this year than in any previous season. The team really felt ready to make a pre-playoff statement but it was not in the cards.
