Over 600 excited minor hockey players walked through the doors at Canlan Ice Sports North Shore between Dec. 26 and 30 to participate in one of 97 games hosted by North Van Minor Hockey Association over the five days.
The NVMHA December tournament included four groups: Atom A, Atom C, Peewee A and Peewee C. Teams traveled from as far away as Kelowna, Seattle, Vancouver Island and Whistler to be one of the 43 participating teams. Some lucky folks went home with one of the raffle baskets, 50/50 prize draws or the coveted loonie stick.
Congratulations to the four winning teams: Coquitlam Atom A1 Chiefs, Langley Atom C4 Warriors, Semiahmoo Peewee A3 Ravens and the Kelowna Bruins Peewee C team. Thank you very much to Linda Kassis and Lisa Breum from Canlan Ice Sports North Shore for all their help putting the tournament together and thank you to the NVMHA volunteers, without whom the tournament could not have happened. |
