BC Hockey is now accepting staff applications for programs offered in the 2010-11 season. Applications are now being accepted for the following programs:
• Major Midget League • Officiating Program • High Performance Program
Application forms for each program are posted to the Administration – Application section of the BC Hockey website.
Major Midget League Staff Applications The Major Midget League will be entering the seventh year of play next season. The League has seen tremendous growth since inception in the 2004-05 season and this is a great opportunity to get involved with an elite midget hockey league. The deadline to apply for a head coach position is May 1, 2010 and all over positions are May 15, 2010.
The positions that are available are as follows: • MML Managing Director • Head Coach • Assistant Coach • Trainer • Team Manager
The BC Hockey Major Midget League was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group. Playing at this high level and be developed for the next level of hockey. These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the National Midget Championship.
BC Hockey High Performance Program Applications are being accepted for Male Under 16 and Under 17, and Female Under 16 and Under 18 programs High Performance Programs. The positions available in the High Performance Program are high profile in nature and will enhance coaching development.
Some notable coaches that have gone through the program include: • Tim Kehler – Assistant Coach, Swift Current Broncos • Matt Hughes – Head Coach, Salmon Arm Silverbacks • Mike Mondin – Assistant Coach, Team Canada Sledge Hockey

The deadline to submit an application for Team Pacific is March 15, 2010

Officiating Staff Applications Staff applications are now available for High Performance Officiating Camps and Summer Officiating Schools. The deadline to submit a staff application for either program is April 1, 2010.

The BC Hockey Officiating Program uses the Hockey Canada Officiating Program to train and evaluate officials working within the Branch. The program that BC Hockey administers allows for basic level training to elite high performance training within the system. This is a proven method and will continue to develop BC’s top officials and allow for them to make the next step in their development. |
