The Canucks Centre for BC Hockey has some exciting opportunities for BC Hockey members. These opportunities include BC Hockey Anthem Idol, Coaching Day in BC and Stand on Guard with the Canucks.
The grand prize winner of Anthem Idol will have the chance to shadow the Vancouver Canucks anthem signer during a Vancouver Canucks home game. The winner will also receive two (2) VIP seats to watch the game. BC Hockey and the Vancouver Canucks will provide prizing for all entries. Entrants may receive an invite to a BC Hockey event, National Championship or other special events happening in BC.
The deadline to submit an entry for the BC Hockey Anthem Idol is December 15, 2009. Entry forms are on the BC Hockey website under the Administration section.
Last year over 200 coaches took part in Coaching Day and this year the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey is hoping for more. Coaching Day in BC will be held on November 22, 2009 at GM Place.
This year’s schedule includes: Welcoming and opening remarks, on-ice and off-ice instruction, goaltending techniques, watching an interactive Vancouver Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks practice and closing remarks.

Entries are still being accepted for the Stand on Guard with the Canucks program. During Minor Hockey Week in BC 10 players (five (5) players and one (1) goaltender) will have the opportunity to stand-on-guard with the Canucks during the singing of the national anthems.
Four (4) officials will also be selected to stand on guard with the National Hockey League (NHL) referees during Minor Hockey Week in BC. Officials must follow the same criteria as players to be eligible to win the grand prize.
For players to be eligible to win the grand prize they must submit a picture of them representing their ‘love of the game’, accompanied with the filled out contest form. The contest form can be found on the BC Hockey website under the Administration section. |
