Some of BC Hockey’s top officials have been selected to attend some of Hockey Canada’s top National Events and National Development Programs. The hard work and dedication that these officials have put in is a testament to their elite level. The following officials attended the Western Officiating Program of Excellence over the Thanksgiving weekend in Kamloops, BC where they were they attended seminars and were evaluated, on and off the ice, by Hockey Canada, Western Hockey League (WHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) officiating supervisors.
Steve Bratt – Port Alberni, BC – Referee Mark Pearce – Vancouver, BC – Referee Bryan Bourdon – Surrey, BC – Referee Ward Pateman – Prince George, BC – Linesman Ryan Dawson – Kamloops, BC – Linesman Trent Knorr – Victoria, BC – Linesman
The inaugural Western Branch Challenge Cup presented by the WHL will include one (1) referee from BC. Michael Campbell from Surrey, BC will be the sole official travelling from BC to the event. The Women’s National Under 18 Championship will be held in Surrey, BC from November 4-8, 2009 and will include three (3) of BC’s finest female officials. Teresa Anderson from Langley, BC and Jennifer Konicek from Kamloops, BC will attend the event as referees and Natasha Lowe from Vancouver, BC will attend as a linesperson. BC Hockey would like to congratulate each official on their selection to these prestigious events and developmental camps. |
