Hockey Canada recently announced the 42 players who were invited to attend the National Women’s National Under 22 Team selection camp at Father David Bauer Olympic Arena in Calgary, AB from August 7-14, 2009. BC’s Hillary Pattenden was selected to attend the camp.
Pattenden from Surrey, BC played for the Mercyhurst College (CHA) during the 2008-2009 season. Hillary finished the season with a 24-3-0 record along with a 1.95 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. The players attending the camp are eligible to represent Canada at the 2010 MLP Cup in Ravensburg, Germany in early January. Canada has won the tournament six (6) times in seven (7) years, losing just two (2) games. Hockey Canada will use the camp to select 22 players for a three-game series against Canada’s National Women’s Team in Calgary in mid August. The National Women’s Under-22 Team selection camp will see the 42 players divided into two teams – Red and White – which will compete with Sweden’s national women’s team in a series of games.
