BC Hockey’s 2009 TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) First winners were the Langley Chiefs and the Cloverdale Canucks. The two (2) novice teams were selected from a prize pool of over 30 entrants. Both teams exemplified qualities throughout the season playing the game hard, and showing great sportsmanship to other players, coaches, parents and referees.
The grand prize was a trip to GM Place to run through drills led by a BC Hockey course conductor followed by a scrimmage with Fin (Vancouver Canucks Mascot) as the special guest referee. To add even more excitement to the event, after the scrimmage there was a shootout. Each team experienced the feeling of making the game winning play like their favourite Canucks superstars. At the conclusion of the shootout there was a positive feeling at GM Place and every player left the ice with a smile.
All too often our children are denied those enjoyable experiences because we fail to protect the environment and the very principles on which the game is built. Hockey is more than a game it is an education. It is also an important part of their upbringing and the success of future generations depends on how well we teach them today.

BC Hockey works in partnership with the Vancouver Canucks through the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey to bring opportunities to amateur hockey in British Columbia. BC Hockey strives to contribute to the development of players through meaningful experiences like the Team First program to instil important values of the game that will not only help foster growth as players but also as individuals.
